A brief apology to my readers for infrequent posting of late

March 7th, 2007 10:52:51 am pst by Sterling Camden

I’d be a better blogger if I didn’t have a life
No need to walk the dog or pay attention to my wife
No kids with hand-picked flowers, bandaged knees, and lengthy hugs
No job to fill the hours breaking software making bugs
No friends to entertain, no relatives to call
No auto to maintain, no leaves to rake in Fall
I’d have time for posts so meaty you could cut them with a knife
Yes, I’d be a better blogger if I didn’t have a life

But what would be my subject here, if all these things were gone?
I’d blog about the blogosphere, and go on and on and on…

Amazing poem!! I’m emailing to a friend who loves this sort of things and also who doesn’t update his blog =) hehe.. thx!

    *pokes Ilker*

Apparently someone missed the message of the poem. Agreed, good poem.

Thanks, Ilker and Hawkeyeaz1. It cuts both ways — even makes Julienne fries!

  4. Let me guess. You are putting your life ahead of me being able to enjoy your regular posts. Unacceptabe ;-)

No worries, Randy — I plan to keep posting. This just occurred to me yesterday when I didn’t have time to post due to a looming code deadline.

  6. If everybody on this planet promised to breath by the end of the day, then we’d have a lot of dead people that missed their deadline. Blog! Screw deadlines!

  7. sterling says:

LOL Randy. I can think of a few people I’d like to see on that list.

    Thanks, Doug!

I am so with you on giving my blog love Chip. Have been reading the wild life-infused Evelyn Rodriguez’ Crossroads Dispaches today & realising I’m spending tons of time doing urgent & not deliciously important ordinary things.. and spending waaaay too much time in front of my screens & not doing the fun stuff here either.
When you do post it’s cracking stuff, so more LIFE clearly doesn’t hurt
    I’m inspired, thanks you

Oh PS. you’re an angel for voting in the blog awards for me! totally silly & fluffy but a little more fun won’t go amiss

  9. sterling says:

Thanks much, Max. Wow, Evelyn’s posts are great. Subscribed.

mmm… utterly edible writing, I may have to blame her if I ever go offline :-P
She’s really respected in the Valley too & does superb conference sessions so she knows life in both worlds. I think when you spend enough time online you really learn to appreciate ordinary simple things so much more.. perhaps (?)

  11. sterling says:

Yes, I think so. I think that any means you employ to add variety to your experiences has the potential to increase your appreciation of them. Or you can just overload and start tuning things out.

Oh this is wonderful. I’m a little late but it deserves stumbling. So here goes. :)
