Chipping the web – rock lobster

January 31st, 2007 5:42:12 pm pst by Sterling Camden

Chipping the webSomething smells: Area 51, test site for Lockheed’s Skunk Works, where many erstwhile secret aircraft have been developed (and perhaps are yet being developed), is also connected with long-running alien conspiracy theories. Decide for yourself which way the scent carries.

Congratulations, Chad! You’ve graduated from having the occasional comment troll to celebrity hate searches. Next level: cyberstalkers.

I love WordPress. It’s free, and it rocks. But I do wonder why they didn’t store timestamps in universal time to avoid problems like these.

NoDaddy.com: “Exposing the Many Reasons Not to Trust GoDaddy with Your Domain Names”. Thanks, Doug, and long live freedom of the press (including, but not limited to, WordPress).

Speaking of domain name registration, Dell had better register every domain matching the pattern dellcansuckmy\1\.(com|net|org|info|ws|us|biz), where \1 gets replaced by every um, “member” of this list.

Thanks for the congratulations! (and the link) It feels nice to be so relevant that people can start doing celebrity hate searches for me.

There’s so much I’d like to pimp in my signatures that I finally just stuck everything into a random sig rotation so I don’t blow the four-line maximum stack size for “netiquette” standards. There’s nothing I can really afford to put into every email signature other than the license under which my email contents can be redistributed and my name. For one of my email accounts, I don’t even include my name so I’ve got more room for advocacy and witticism.

If I included a link to every cause I favor in my signature, I’d have to pay for extra bandwidth.
