That link to About.com is pretty cool. Some of that stuff I didn’t know about, the others I’ve read about. All in all, it does make you wonder if our current method of dating objects is wildly inaccurate.

@TDavid: Hey, if they can lump “writing” in with the R’s, I can put “how” in with the W’s. It has one at the end.
@Joseph: The other possible explanations they give were also pretty intriguing: that people have been around a lot longer than we think, or that other civilizations existed long ago.
Another possible explanation for the dinosaur paintings which could also apply to some dragon myths: maybe ancient people found fossils of dinosaurs, and constructed myths to explain them.
