I guess my content’s brow stands a little higher than Randy’s. Even so, seventh to tenth grade falls well beneath my target audience, I should think.

Test your site’s readability, and read the explanations for the last three scores.

  1. The funny part is that my 4-8 grade level writing is much higher than my target audience :-)

The funny/sad truth is that most people don’t comprehend the level of reading that they achieved in school. Most educated adults are only comfortable at a 4th to 7th grade level.

  3. That explains my target audience :)

Another factor is the explosion of new terms related to the internet, Web 2.0, and blogging (among other things). Most people just can’t keep up with all the new words.
