Hi Chip! Long time no see but I see you’ve been busy in my absence. I had to laugh at getting raped over the coals because getting raped wasn’t bad enough for them I guess. Also, I’ve been seeing lots of typos in places I always expected better quality from these days. Is the texting era ruining our ability to type or our capacity to care (or both)? Hmmmm.
Hey teeni.
Probably a little of both.
I think you’re both right. Too much going on in our lives reduces the importance of a lot of things that used to matter. Does anyone remember hand-written letters that took days to arrive at their destination? Then the recipient would sit down with a cup of coffee to spend half an hour reading it? That sort of time commitment meant that the author treated the medium as an art form in itself. People paid attention not only to spelling and grammar, but even to penmanship and layout.
Hey, I still send out hand written missives from time to time. (:
I know what you mean, though. As we allow ourselves to be crunched for time, we have to stop caring about everything so much otherwise we’d never have time to just relax.
Do I need to get out my (buzzword) bingo card?
Heh. I’d like to see an updated one.
here here (:
