Just when we thought that the Mariners might have started to get something going by barely beating the world champion White Sox the day before…

I just hope the Mariner’s butts aren’t breakable, because they received an Almighty Spanking from the White Sox last night.

Joel Pineiro looked like he was up to this year’s finer form at first, but his control started to erode in the third inning — and the resulting landslide continued long after his departure. The Mariners finally scored some runs in the 7th and 8th, but by then the Sox were a decade ahead of them. I kept hoping for a touchdown and a field goal, but there wasn’t enough time left on the clock.
