  1. Stu says:

    My version of ‘Done’ :

    Do it RIGHT,
    the first time,
    on time,
    every time!

    • That works for well-defined, limited projects. And perhaps the lesson is to break everything down into well-defined, limited projects.

The secret to breaking everything down into well-defined, limited projects is the “Unix philosophy”, I think — in which the primary mandate for the design of something is that it should “do one thing well”. If you want multiple things done, tie several of these things that each “do one thing well” together.

I snuck one past you there :-)
“Do it RIGHT” implies there is an agreed spec. as to what is ‘right’; thus well-defined and limited ;-)

Thanks for that “random joke” link. It really put a nice polish on the end of my day.

  3. Thanks for turning me onto xkcd. It’s a wonderful strip.
