Flying cars are subject to legal restrictions.

Here in Germany , they would have to use an airstrip
for T/O and landing. The ‘driver’ would need a pilots’ licence.o.

In the US, I believe Alaska is the only state allowing T/O and
landing on the highways.

Many drivers can barely cope with the 1-dimensional task of driving along a road. Imagine them in three!!! :-(

YMMV.

Yes, you’re right about those restrictions.

Unleashing the majority of drivers on the skies would be an interesting experiment. Even licensed pilots sometimes get a little careless and end up dead. With so many people treating highway driving as an act that requires no attention whatsoever, it could get downright comical (in a wicked way).

There is a story making the rounds here about a US Darwin Award candidate. Upon retiring, he bought a motorhome, took it out on the highway, engaged the tempomat (=speed control?) and then went in the back to make himself a coffee!

UL? Or true?

See the end of this entry: http://www.snopes.com/autos/techno/cruise.asp

Apparently the folks at snopes think it’s another variation on an old UL.
