Don’t tell my wife, OK?

You really have talent for these quips
HAHAHA
This thought _definitely_ crossed my mind when I was writing the blog entry. I’ve had a few dialogs like this:
Wife: Let’s do X
Me: Uh, no, sorry have to work.
Wife: DARN IT! *looks upset*
Me: What?? It’s not like I _want_ to work, come on!
Wife: *suspicious evil eye*
So hopefully she ignores the post – the previous stuff about kernels and whatnot sort of conditioned her to
cheers.
So you’ve also learned the art of blog camouflage! Goes something like:
Ruby blah blah closures blah blah design patterns blah blah blah blah continuations blah assembler blah agile blah blah vim vs emacs blah blah. Now here’s what I really want to talk about…
BTW, Gustavo, that was a great post. I’m really enjoying your blog.
Thanks
Your page was the first one where I saw my blog in the blog roll. I remember thinking “holy crap, some people out there actually read my stuff!”
I remember that feeling — heck, it still gives me shivers (the good kind) whenever I see one of my blogs in someone’s reading list. It’s comparable to the first time you’re linked by someone you read and respect, or when they comment on your blog for the first time.
It seems like the celebrity effect is magnified in the blogosphere, for some reason — at least for me. Everyone seems like a giant at first, but after you get to know them you find that they’re just people, after all. And then just the other day a reader told me they were “honored” for me to blog about their story (on TR) — and I realize that the cycle is just repeating.
But I still can’t get over the time that Reg linked to me and commented. Too bad he’s giving up the blog.
BTW, Gustavo — the first time I read a post on your blog, I thought “this guy really knows what he’s talking about”. You came out of the starting gate looking like a thoroughbred.
Whoah. *blush*
I can’t tell you how surprised I was that my posts did alright. Thanks for the feedback.
My pleasure — looking forward to your next post!
Speaking of Reg, did you see that he linked to you, Gustavo?
That was a fun post to read and a great quip. You really do have a little devil in you, after all, Chip! LOL.
My wife says I AM the devil.
Oh, and um, there’s an award for you at my place.
Thanks, teeni! I’ll have to pass that around…
